Sorting through masses of data isn’t everyone’s idea of a good time, especially when you’re a teacher with a school of students to support. That’s why, when this teacher came to Buzz, we knew we could help bring their idea to life by streamlining the hard bit and helping educators get back to doing what they do best.

EASY-TO-USE PORTAL

If you’re a headteacher, you’re probably used to pouring over results and data to get an idea about whole-school achievement – and you certainly won’t be a stranger to the graphs and charts that come with managing this role.

However, the process up until now has been time-consuming and tedious, with much room for error due to lack of easy data recording. That’s where Mappix comes in.

The brainchild of a teacher who wanted to create an easy-to-use data system for fellow educators, Mappix makes this process easier, by supporting teaching staff during potentially stressful periods (like OFSTED inspections).

And the Buzz team was thrilled to bring this concept to life. How? By building a user-friendly interface that allows staff to input data through smart marksheets, which then automatically populate graphs and charts to give a clear overview of whole-school achievement.

We know that data is only reliable if the source information is accurate, so creating an easy-to-use interface was crucial when building the Mappix portal. Why? Because it limits mistakes, keeps things easy to track and can be used by people with the most basic computer skills.

Now an award-winning platform, Mappix is taken up by 95% of the schools that try it – which proves just how vital a system like this can be for hard-working teachers.
